Weekend Recap:

Friday: Papo (my dad) was on his way through town to a football game, so he decided to stop by for a moment to see Kendall. She always gets excited when her grandparents stop by! Kendall and her daddy had a date night here at the house while I got to have a girl's night out! I met my friend Lauren D. for dinner. Even though we live in the same town (in fact maybe only 5 miles from each other), we hadn't seen each other in several months! It was really nice seeing her again and catching up!

Saturday: Justin and Mark left really early to go to our hunting lease to check the game cameras and refill the deer feeders. Even though that sounded like a big barrel of fun, I decided to hang back with Kendall and go to the Peddler Show!! My mom came to town and joined us! It was a lot of fun but I was hoping for a little more home decor. I did manage to find a great Christmas gift for Justin's aunt and uncle and the most adorable Halloween costume for Kendall. She is going to be a little lady bug!! I tried it on her before I bought it and she loved it!! When anyone saw her and made a comment, Kendall was smile and swing her hips! Well that evening I wanted Justin to see it so I put it on Kendall again....or so I TRIED to put it on her. She screamed and threw a fit and said "no no no, stop"! The way I figure it is that we have a 50/50 chance of her actually wearing it for Halloween!! After that ordeal, we went over to Mark & Amy's house so that we, Mark & Justin, could watch and go over every little detail of every picture that their deer cameras took. I believe they took over 3000 pictures!! Thankfully unfortunately Kendall needed to go to bed so I didn't get to stay for the whole slide show!

Sunday: Kendall decided that we all needed to get up and watch the Sprout channel at 6 am!! If you haven't yet discovered the Sprout channel, please consider yourself lucky!! We made breakfast for Daddy, colored, and played with our dolls until it was time to go to Church. After a great service and a great lunch, we all came home and took a very long nap!! Overall, we had a wonderful weekend. It just went by too fast!

While I was getting ready for church, Kendall decided she would try on Daddy's shirt:

If the lady bug costume doesn't work out, then maybe I'll just dress her up as a ghost!!

Random Tidbits:

I can't believe it's already Wednesday!! This week has been good and crazy all at the same time, so I thought I would share just what has been going on with us.

  • Sunday evening after helping Justin with our bicycles, Kendall and I went over to my friends house to help her make mums. Here the tradition is for the boy to make a mum for his date and for the girl to make a garter for her date. Amy B. is the proud mother of triplets (two boys and one girl). She does not like making things and was starting to stress out over these. I had told her that I made them in high school when I was a cheerleader, so I offered to help out. It took me three hours to make one mum, but it turned out sooooo cute! Kendall had lots of fun playing with the triplets and "helping" mommy!

  • Monday was a very busy day at work. We had two robotic cases and one started at 7am. We don't get to work until 6:30 so it was a little hectic getting my operating room ready. Around 3:00 that afternoon my friend Amy S. had her first baby! Joan and I went to see her and sweet baby Addison that evening. She is the cutest little baby! I'm so excited to have another girl in our little group. It's going to be so neat watching Addison, Kendall, and Joan's four daughters grow up together! Well, at least until they all turn into teenagers!!

  • Yesterday was picture day at Kendall's daycare. She looked so stinkin' cute in her outfit!! Yes, it was new and yes, it came from Gymboree!! I would like to add though it was on sale! Apparently Kendall first refused to take her picture and said "No, No, No," the whole time. About two hours later, a teacher finally convinced Kendall to take a picture, but she would only do it while sitting on the teacher's lap. Little by little they got Kendall to take a picture on her own. I'm crossing my pictures that they at least got one good picture!! After dinner Kendall and I went back over to Amy's house to make the garter. It only took me 2 1/2 hours to make that!! It looked really good if I have to say so myself!! Justin had to work all night so I got to watch one of my girlie shows that I had recorded in peace and quiet!!

  • Today we did our first robotic tubal re-anastomosis. In English that means putting a woman's tubes back together after she had a tubal ligation so that she can have another child. I have never seen one before and it was really neat to see it done with the robot! After work my  friend Kari met me to go running. Since we can't walk and run at the same time, we just walk while we talk. Usually that is only for a block or two. Well we haven't seen each other in a week so we had a lot of catching up to do. Needless to say we walk our entire route (three miles)!!. We are meeting tomorrow and we both promised we would actually run! I'll let you know how that turns out! Tonight is the season premiere of Criminal Minds and I can't wait!! Even though it can be disturbing sometimes, I absolutely love that show!!

  • I hope everyone has a great rest of the week!

Our living room!

Kelly on Kelly's Corner has brought back

Though I'm a couple of days late, I still wanted to participate. This week everyone is to show off their living rooms. I love our living room, but I'm not in love with it yet. But it will get there one day! Here are a few pics. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, please feel free to tell me!

This is the view from our entryway

Our living room is opened to our kitchen and dining area

This picture is tilted for some reason!
Justin and I want to get different pillows and I want to change the lamps

This is a sitting area next to the entryway. I want to replace the Pooh
toy with an in table, but I haven't found the right one yet.
I also thinking about red pillow or gold pillows to go with the painting.

This is the wall that our long couch is on.
I'm thinking a black table with some greenery, different size vases and maybe
some lemons in one of them. What do you think?

So this is our living room!! It isn't a designer living room, but it's a place where we can watch TV and play with Kendall, so we love it and it fits us!!

Babysitting Time!

Justin and I got to babysit Baby Abby this weekend. She is 4 1/2 months old and she is the cutest rollypolly!! Kendall just loves her and she was such a big help. Sometimes, a too big of a help. She was ok with me holding Abby, but she did NOT like her daddy paying any attention to Abby!! Can we say Daddy's girl?? Here are some of my favorite pics:

Saturday night Justin's parents came over so that we could watch Texas Tech play UT. Unfortunately the game didn't go our way, but we had fun anyway!

Kendall decided that my beads looked better on Grandpa!

This afternoon after Abby went home and we ALL took a nap, Justin decided to work on our bicycles. Kendall decided to help him:

Yes, that is a glass she is using and no, we no longer have it in one piece!!

Friday Night Lights!!

It's almost fall and what does that mean.....Football Season!!

If you ask my husband, he would say hunting season....but that's another future post!!

Anyway..back to football. I have always loved football.

I love everything about it....the band, the fans (well most of the time), the nachos, the competitiveness, watching the cheerleaders (it takes me back to my cheer leading days), and especially watching the game itself.

However, I have grown to love a different, but very important part of the game.

Want to know what it is???

The REFS!! Yes, that's right the refs.

These are men that have full time jobs and families and other responsibilities throughout the week. But on Fridays they travel to their destination, put on their uniform, and get ready for three hours of sweat, hard work, and fun. Even though they get yelled at the majority of the time, they love what they do and keep coming back every week.

Tonight Justin, Kendall and I went to a local high school game to see a very special ref in action. I personally think he was the best one out there, but they all did a great job!!
Here is our special ref:

Kendall loved watching her Papo at work and would dance and clap anytime she would hear cheering and music no matter what team was doing the cheering!!

I hope everyone enjoys the football season and please remeber before yelling at the refs...

They may just be a precious little girl's Papo!!

Game Day Beads!!

Kelly at Kelly's Corner hosts "Show us your Life" every Friday. A couple of months ago, the theme was arts & crafts. Anyone could link up their website or blog and show what they had to offer. Well the first link I clicked on showed these super duper cute necklaces and bracelets. I immediately ordered a pair and I got them in today!!

Somebody else loves them too.....

The lady who makes them is Susan. I'm pretty sure she will do any school or NFL team. Also, if you don't see your team, just e-mail her and she can make them for you. That's what I did and I think they turned out great!!

Happy Grandparent's Day 2010!!

Grandparents Day....a special day in my heart.

It's the day I will celebrate the people in my life that can make things ok just by saying hello.

They don't judge and hardly tell me "No"!!

They have many wise stories to tell and they always make me laugh.

They will always stand up on my behalf!!

They bake cookies, pies, and other sweet treats.

I know my grandparents can't be beat!!

Happy Grandparent's Day to all of my grandparents:

Weekend Thus Far:

Our weekend has been great so far. Last night Justin took me out on a surprise date. Grandma Melinda came over to our house to watch Kendall for us. We ate at Olive Garden and had a great time!!

Today, Justin went golfing with some guys from work, so it was a girls' day here at our house. Memaw (Kendall calls her "mama") came over for the afternoon to play. When Justin got home we all when to On the Border to eat. It was quite yummy!!

Kendall received this leotard and tutu for her birthday, so I decided to let her wear it today since it's black and white. I added her Texas Tech hair bow since today is football Saturday!!

I was wearing a necklace, so of course she had to wear one!!

Memaw and Kendall coloring:

On a more serious note: I can't believe it has been nine years since 9/11 happened. While Kendall was taking a nap, my mom and I watched a very powerful documentary about 9/11 on the History Channel. I think not living very close to New York, can make it easier to forget about the magnitude of our Country's loss that day. But watching that show, took me right back and I could remember exactly what I was doing that fateful day. I hope everyone took or will take a moment to be still and remember everyone that lost a life that day.

20 Months Old

Kendall is 20 months old!! I can't believe it!! These past 20 months have been the most exhausting, frustrating, happy, and fun times of our lives!!

Always with her hand on her hip!!

This picture was taken a year ago when she was just starting to stand up and hold on to things!!

Kendal Marie Mack:
you weigh 24lbs 9oz
you go to bed at 7pm and wake up around 5:20 (weekdays)
you would eat ravioli, grapes, bread, oranges, and strawberries all day every day if I would let you
you are saying more and more each day, but your favorite words are: what's that, oh, DA (dad),
you have finally decided that you love your helmet and you love riding bikes with Mom and Dad, in fact you throw a fit when it's time to get off the bikes!
you love to swim and have no fear in the water!!
you love being with your friends, Kenadi, Keira, Mollie, and Maddie, Jacob, and Ina
you think every baby is Baby Abby
Kendall Marie, we love you so much and we just can't thank God enough for letting us raise you!
We love you!!
