A Princess Birthday

Today I hosted a birthday party for my dear friend's daughter! Little Miss Abby (better known as Baby Abby around our house!) turned One this week!
I wanted to do something a little special for them, so I made this banner:

The party went great and all the little kids played well together!

When it was time to open presents, Kendall thought they were all for her! Abby got a baby doll and Kendall immediately claimed it as her own! One of the mothers asked Kendall, "Is that Abby's Baby Kendall"?  Kendall responded, "No, this is Kendall's Baby Abby"!!

Adam, Megan, and Baby Abby are so special to us. Unfortunately they are moving back to North Dakota this summer to be closer to family. We are going to miss them so much. We love little Abby like she is our own!
I just love this pic!
Kendall is the little ham!!

Isn't she precious?!?

Happy Easter!!

Happy Easter to everyone!!

I hope you all are having a wonderful day with your families and friends!!

Justin got home early this morning, so we got Kendall up and she found her awesome basket that the Easter Bunny left!!

I decided to change up Kendall's Easter basket. I recently discovered Nikki In Stitches
and she made this adorable basket wrap!
Besides the swimsuit, all the goodies came from the Target dollar bins!
You can find a lot of great things there!

Kendall's pj's even look Easterish!!

The sour patch candies were a great hit!!

We then went to Church with Justin's family and afterwards had a wonderful meal.

Kendall got this little backpack from her great grandparents!

Isn't she just the little doll?!?!

Then it was egg hunting time!! Of course, Kendall's favorite part!!

Egg hunting is very serious business!

My little diva!

We have had a great day! Now, it is nap time!!

Spa Day!!

As part of my birthday, my mom treated us girls to a little spa day! We all pedicures and my mom and Kendall got manicures!

Yes, Kendall is 2 and she got her first mani and pedi!! I may regret later having starting her out so soon, but it sure was a lot of fun watching her! She sat very still and just was memorized by the lady doing her nails. She even got little white flowers painted on her thumbs and big toes!!

Kendall NEVER sits this still when I try to clip her nails!

Can't forget about the filing!

Now onto the toes!!

The finished project!!
I could not get a good shot of her fingernails!!

Good Family Fun!

Since today was Good Friday and my birthday I decided I would take a day off work and Kendall and I would head to Houston to see my parents. I decided to surprise my parents last night by just showing up on their doorstep!

Today my mom made a great breakfast! Then Papo took Kendall to the park while my mom and I did a little shopping! Yes, I went without Kendall!!

This evening my parents cooked a wonderful meal and we had a great cake for dessert. The best part was that Justin was finally back in town and was able to celebrate with us!!

My pretty cake!
As you can see, someone couldn't keep their little hands from the icing!

There is nothing sweeter than hearing your little girl saying
"Happy Birthday Mama"!!

My sweet family!

Thursday Fun

Today was Kendall's Easter party at school!!

Last night after Kendall went to bed, I stuffed the eggs, got her Easter basket together, and put it all by the door with everything else we needed for our day.

Clearly I wasn't thinking properly!!

This morning, while I was getting Kendall dressed, she spotted the eggs, picked one up and opened it. This was our conversation:
K: Mommy, egg!
M: Yes, Kendall that is an Easter egg!
K: Candy! Kendall egg and candy?
M: No, these eggs are for your friends like Jacob and Ina
K: Candy yucky, Jacob no eat candy, yucky
M: this candy is yucky??
K: uh uh...Kendall better eat candy!

She is too smart for her own good!!

After school today, I had a few neighborhood friends over for some good Easter egg dying fun! I was so busy making sure that dye didn't get knocked over (which it did) and everyone was having fun (which they did) that I didn't take one single picture! It didn't even cross my mind until about an hour after everyone went home! No one took any eggs home with them, so now we have about 5 dozen of hard boiled eggs sitting in our fridge!! I guess I need to learn how to make deviled eggs!!

Dress Up Wednesday!

Today Kendall participated in Dress Up Wednesday at school today!

It was a beach theme! They weren't getting in the water today, so she wore a little sun dress and hat!

Of course the hat came off as soon as we stepped inside her school!

As I have mentioned before, Justin has been out of town since Sunday. Everyday on our way home from school/work, Kendall and I have this conversation:
K: Dabby home?
M: No, baby, Daddy is working
K: Dabby work?
M: Yes, Daddy is working
K: ooh, Kendall and Mommy go shopping??

Right now the grocery store can constitute as shopping. I know one day, however, that will no longer work!!

And yes, Kendall calls her daddy "Dabby"!!

Day One

Today Justin left to go out of town for a week. Technically speaking he is on vacation, though what he is doing this week is no real vacation!!

So that leaves Kendall and I by ourselves for a week.

And like the saying goes, "When the cat is away...the mice will play"; When Daddy is away...Kendall and Mommy go shopping!!
Our first stop was to get some new shoes!!

We also have matching nail polish!!

I love how she crossed her feet!
Don't tell Daddy we have our feet on the coffee table!

We then went to Target to get some Easter supplies and Kendall a new pool hat!

Then it was off to the grocery!

I remember going to Sam's with my mom and running around to all the sample stations and trying all the food. Well, as soon as we walk into HEB, Kendall says "bite" and "Kendall eat"!! We can't roll past a sample station without Kendall reaching out her hand and saying "bite please".

It was such a nice evening when we got home, we kicked the soccer ball around for a little bit.

It was a nice Mother / Daughter evening!

I'm hooked!

I'm hooked....on reading that is!

Ok, so Justin would say obsessed and addicted!

I love to read! Luckily so do my neighbors so we have started a book club!

Our current read is The Help by Kathryn Stockett. I love this book and I can't put it down! I also just heard that it is coming out as a movie this summer!

I have also recently read the The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series by Stieg Larsson. At first I wasn't so sure that I could get into the book. But then I, once again, found myself not being able to put it down. I loved all three books!

I also love any book by Nicholas Sparks. His book, The Choice brought me to tears. I think it is one of my favorites by him!

I can't end this post without mentioning two other series that I am obsessed love! The Twighlight Series and of course The Harry Potter Series. If someone would have told me that I would love books about witches, magic, vampires, and ware wolfs, I would have called them crazy!! But I found myself wanting to do nothing but read until I got through all the books! And yes, I have seen every Twighlight movie and am counting down until November!!

Ok, so maybe I'm a little obsessed with reading!!

It's Swim Time Again!!

It has been really hot these past few days, so we decided that we would head down to the neighborhood pool! I thought the water was too cold, but it didn't stop our little water bug!

Walking down her runway!

Isn't her swimsuit the cutest? It came from Target!

After about 100 jumps into the pool, her lips were starting to turn purple, so we decided that was enough for the day. Even though she was shivering, Kendall through the biggest fit because she was NOT ready to quit swimming. She only stopped crying when she heard that we were having pizza that night for dinner! She is such her mother's daughter sometimes!! One of my motos is "Pizza can cure anything". I believe Kendall follows the same philosophy!!

Good Clean Fun!

Since it was so nice out this morning, I thought Kendall and I could wash my car mats and trash cans!

I know, I know, you can think of so many other fun ways to spend your Saturday!!

Kendall got these adorable rain boots for her birthday, so I thought this would be
a perfect time for her to wear them!

Kendall thought the bubbles were so much fun!

I don't know what got wetter...Kendall or the trashcans!

Yes, I do plan on showing Kendall these pictures when she is 13, so
she can be reminded just how fun cleaning can be!!

Are you wondering where the rain boots went? Kendall will explain:
M: Kendall what are you doing?
K: Kendall take boots off. It's wet.
M: Kendall those are rain boots. They can get wet.
K: No, Mommy. No wet!
M: Yes, Kendall they can get wet. It's ok!
K: No wet! New shoes...no wet!!
So her new rain boots stayed nice and dried in the garage!!

Dress up Wednesday!!

Last week started the beginning of Dress Up Wednesdays at Kendall's school!!

Last week was Favorite Sports Day!
This was pre-brush hair!

Showing off her cheer leading moves!
Go Dallas Cowboys!

This week was Favorite Animal Day. Kendall loves monkeys but we don't have a
monkey costume, so I had to get a little creative!
I went to Michael's and found these cute little
iron on monkeys....this is just about as creative
as I can get!!

I love iron on letters! They are super easy!

Spring Time Shopping!

Because I have a very fast growing toddler....

And it's a new season...

And all of Kendall's shorts are looking like bloomers...

I decided that it was time for a spring shopping trip to the Outlet Mall!!

We started out by eating some pizza!

Kendall saying "It's yummy Mommy!"

Then we rode the errpane (airplane)!

This was right before the ride stopped and we had
a MAJOR meltdown.

And this is all of our loot!!

I don't think I'll have to do laundry for weeks!
