Amarillo by Morning...

Last Thursday Justin, Kendall, and I took a little family vacation to Amarillo and Dumas, Tx. Yes, you heard right...we went up to the Texas Panhandle!! It is a long long way from here (9 hours to be exact) but it was sooo worth it! We were able to spend the weekend with some of my most favorite people in the whole world...my granny, grandma & papa, and my little cousins!!

We started out Thursday morning and arrived in Dumas around 6:15pm. We then picked up my granny and headed to "Chica Blanca's". It's a Mexican food restaurant and is actually owned by our neighbors! It has some great Mexican food, so if you are in the area, you should check it out. F.Y.I...I'm just not saying that because we know the owners, we really did think the place was great!!

On Friday we went to Amarillo to spend the day with my grandparents. It was so nice to see my Papa and Grandma, it had been too long. Kendall loved seeing them as well. She especially loved Grandma's phone and strawberries!! That evening we met up with Justin's college roommate and his family. We had a great time catching up with them and letting the kids play together. After dinner we went and had ice cream. Boy did it turn out messy!! Kendall decided she wanted to feed me and we were literally covered from head to toe in pink ice cream! Thank goodness for Shout!!

Kendall talking to Aunt Emily on the phone

Having a heart-to-heart with her Great Papa

She would only sit still as long as she had the phone!

We all have relaxed smiles!!

Kendall saying "yumm" to the strawberries

She was shoving as many strawberries in her mouth as she could!!

Saturday we spent the day with my granny and she showed me how to make her famous cinnamon rolls!! She was very patient with me as I asked lots of questions and wrote many notes!! That evening my aunt and uncle invited us over to their house for dinner. It was sooooo nice to see everyone and Kendall had lots of fun playing with all of her cousins!!

Kendall wanted to sit in the chair like Granny! You can't really tell, but they have on coordinating outfits!

Sunday we headed back to College Station :( Needless to say we spent a lot of time in the car and our daily routine and schedule went right out the window!! Kendall, however was a trooper and overall a great travel buddy!! Though we did learn that 8 hours in the car is definitely her limit!! She just melted the last hour we were in the car and quite frankly I don't blame her. We were all so tired we thought we would take silly pictures..as you can see in the pictures, Kendall was not fond of the idea!!
Quick note on the first picture: We were driving along when all of a sudden we smelled this horrible stench. After looking around and making sure there weren't any feed lots around, we looked to the only other culprit it could be!! When Justin asked Kendall if she was stinky, she made a face and said "shoo shoo". After a minute or so I looked back and this is what I saw:

I guess she was trying to get away from it too!!

Thanks for driving 3/4 of the way!!

Kendall was not in the picture taking mood!!

Where's Kendall??

Weekend Recap

This weekend was busy, but relaxing at the same time!! On Friday my parents came by to pick Kendall up for the weekend. Justin and I both had events happening on Saturday, so they decided to keep her all weekend. Kendall had a great time with them! They took several walks around the neighborhood, played outside with the sprinkler and bird bath, and ate all the grapes her little belly could hold!! Meanwhile, Justin and I decided to go on a dinner date Friday night to The Olive Garden. Afterwards we went to the grocery store to shop for a bachelor party that Justin was putting on for his best friend from high school, James.

Saturday morning started out with me cutting up the vegetables and hot peppers and Justin packing everything up for the party. Afterwards, I went for a much needed pedicure!! I splurged and got the "deluxe" pedi, and let me tell you it was worth every cent!! Gymboree was having a HUGE sale on their summer clothes, so I bought a few outfits for Kendall to wear next Spring and Summer. For 60% off I think it will be ok for her to wear "last season's" clothing!! I then had a very relaxing lunch with two of my girlfriends at Madden's. That evening I went to a bachelorette party for Lindy (James's bride-to-be). It was a lot of fun and was really nice catching up with James's sisters!!

Today I slept in until 9:30!! I honestly can't remember the last time I slept in that late!! To some that may not be very late, but when you get up at 4:30 every morning, 9:30 is a treat!! After Justin got home, he and I met his mom and sister for lunch. Then we came back home and took naps until Kendall got home!! It was soooo nice to have her back! I swear she grew in the two days she was gone!! I let her stay up a little past her bedtime so we could get in some extra playing time!!

Hope everyone has a great week!! It's going to be a three day work week for us.....Yippeee!!
