Catch Up Time!!

We have been so busy this week that I haven't had enough time to blog!! On Sunday we all slept in and then went for a nice morning walk. Kendall LOVES to swing!! She had a great time having her daddy push her! Later that evening we went to our friend's house for a cookout! Of course I forgot my camera, but we had lots of fun!! Kendall just loves her little friends.
Kendall would swing all day long if we would let her!

This was after our walk. Her head is completely soaked from sweat!
Gotta' love this Texas humidity!!

Kendall decided she would drag her shoe box out of her closet into the kitchen, dump the box, and get inside it while opening and closing the kitchen cabinets!!
(She has 12 teeth now!)

On Tuesday we went over to my in-laws to celebrate Father's Day with Justin's dad. We had a great dinner and had a great time visiting. While we were there I babysat Baby Abby. She is the cutest baby! Kendall loves to watch Baby Abby. However, she did NOT like it when her grandma held Abby!!

On Wednesday Justin and I had a little date night. We went to a Happy Hour which was hosted by someone I work with. We had a really good time. Kendall played over at Amy B's house. She always has such a good time over there!

It has been a very very busy week at work. I am so glad it's Friday tomorrow! I plan on sleeping in until really late on Saturday...well, as late as Kendall will sleep that is!!

Hope everyone is having a great week!

Saturday

Well Saturday started off a little rough!! I was on call Friday night and got called in at 1am and didn't get home until 5:30ish. Kendall was ready to get the day started around 7, but thankfully I have an awesome husband who got up with her!! He also swept and mopped my tile floors!

Justin met my dad in Navasota to go golfing while my mom and I took Kendall to Jacob's birthday party. Jacob is Kendall's best friend at daycare. I think they get into lots of trouble together!!

The theme was Dinosaurs. This dinosaur would eat, "talk", and go to sleep.
Kendall did NOT find it amusing!!

The cake! The dinosaur actually roared!!

Jacob didn't know what think when everyone started singing Happy Birthday!

Abby (another friend from daycare) & Jacob playing with the bubble machine

Kendall preferred to swing!!

Kendall loves this car. The last time we were over at their house, Jacob and she fought over it the whole time! Kendall SCREAMED when I took her out of the car. She screamed so loud the other moms came running because they thought she was hurt!!

Later in the evening Justin, Kendall, and I along with my parents went and had Mexican food! Kendall ate before we left so she did really well. Every time we go to a restaurant, she always wants my lime....

Priceless!!

After dinner we came back to our house and had German chocolate cake for dessert! We also took a couple of pictures of Kendall with Dad and Papo!

She was tired of pictures by this point!!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!

Our marriage proposal

Today over on Kelly's Corner the topic for "Show us your Life" is Marriage proposals.  This may be boring to most of you, but here is our story!

It was Easter Sunday, April 16th, 2006. Justin and I had been dating for three months. Yes, I said three months!! I had been up all night the night before at clinical, so I had Justin meet me at my apartment that morning so I wouldn't fall asleep instead of getting ready for Church!! We were about to leave, and as I was applying my lip gloss I noticed Justin was getting something out of his bag. I was reaching for the door when he asked me if I wanted my Easter card now. Now, as you all know I can't wait for anything, especially if it concerns a gift for me!! So naturally I said yes, plopped on the couch and started to rip open the card. Inside of it was a newspaper article. Our conversation went like this:
Lauren: This is an article about my papa. Where did you get this:
Justin: I can't reveal my sources.
Lauren: This article came from the Amarillo newspaper. (We were living in Lubbock at the time) Who do you know in Amarillo?
Justin: Your grandma
Lauren: You know my grandma? When did you meet my grandma?
Justin: When I went there to ask your dad and brother permission to marry you.
Lauren: What?? Wait, I'm confused, what???
**Justin is getting of the couch and getting on one knee**
Lauren: Justin Mack, are you for real? I mean really, are you for real??
**Justin is grinning from ear to ear and holding the most beautiful ring**
Lauren: No, Justin I mean seriously, are you for real??
**Justin shaking and having a worried look on his face**
Justin: Soooo, is that a yes??
Lauren: O my gosh...yes, I mean yes. It's a yes!!

Justin and I then ate doughnuts by my pool and called our parents and I called my soon-to-be bridesmaids. We then went to Church. Needless to say we were so excited that we couldn't help but keep staring at my ring and smiling. I may have been giggling too!!

We have been married for three years and together for four. It has been the most amazing time in my life. I can't wait for the next forty!!

The Weekend

Justin had to go away for work this past weekend, so it was girls weekend again! Our Saturday started off with a birthday party for little Andy. His mom and I work together in the O.R. The party was at Chick-Fil-A and the theme was "Handy Manny".

The birthday cake!

Waiting for the nuggets!!

Kendall wasn't a huge fan of the nuggets, but she LOVED the cake!!

Kendall wasn't so sure of the clown!

On Sunday, I went to a bridal shower for a dear friend. Unfortunately my camera didn't find it's way out of my purse, so I didn't get a single picture!!

On a funny note: At bathtime Kendall loves to run away from me as soon as I take all her clothes and diaper off. It has never been a problem until tonight....I was in the bathroom filling the tub and Justin was chasing Kendall back to the bathroom. All of a sudden I heard Justin yelling "she's peeing, she's peeing!!" I turned around to see Justin holding Kendall at arms length and Kendall smiling from ear to ear as urine is running down her leg!! I guess when you have to go, you have to go now!!

Baseball Game!

Last night we went to the Bomber's baseball game with some of our neighbors. We ate a lot...talked even more...and watched very little baseball!! But who has time for baseball when you have FIVE little girls under the age of 4 running around!!

The whole gang (minus me!)

Joan & Gayland with Maddie & Molly

Kenadi, Kendall, & Keira

Kendall & Amy

All the girls!!
It only took three tries to get this picture!!

After the game we saw Mr. Baseball. As you can see in the picture below, Kendall just loved him!!

China Patterns

So it's Friday again!! That means it's Show Us Your Life over on Kelly's Blog. This week's theme is "China Patterns". When I got married I chose not to register for a formal china set. Being married for three years now, I have grown to regret that decision. Do I have room for china in my house? Have I needed to use china for a party? The answer is a big fat NO!! But I still love china and I still regret not registering!!
I did register for the Fiesta dinnerware. I chose the colors black and white and my serving pieces are red. I love love love them. But I still love china!! If I had chosen chine I would have chosen a pattern similar to this:

This is the Kate Spade "Noel Alabaster". I just love it. It's simple but yet classic!!

Rough Start....

Well, yesterday Kendall woke up wheezing and just not feeling good, so I called in and stayed home from work. We went to the doctor and he said that she was wheezing a little but not bad enough to give her any breathing treatments (especially with her heart issues). After the visit we came home and Kendall took a nap. I took advantage of the quiet time and did a much needed cleaning to my stationary drawer and bathroom cabinet!! They both look so nice! I hope I can keep them that way for longer than a week! After Kendall woke up we played with her new baby doll. She looked so cute, so I took a couple of pictures.

This first picture describes Kendall's personality to a tee!!

Today Kendall did go to school, but she still has a little cough. We have increased her allergy medicine from once a day to twice a day, so hopefully that helps! It was busy at work today, but I got to work with one of my favorite GYN doctors which made it a lot better!!

This Weekend

On Saturday Justin went to watch the Motocross Races in Wortham, TX with his family. It is not the place for a toddler, so Kendall and I had a girls' day!! Before Justin left I had gone on a run around the neighborhood. However, he had to leave before I could take a shower. A friend at work had suggested that I start putting Kendall in the shower with me because it's so much faster and easier. Since Kendall loves the water and doesn't mind getting her face wet, I thought this would be the perfect time to try it out.
Boy was I wrong....VERY, VERY, VERY wrong!! Kendall was ok, even laughing, until I shut the shower door! When she wasn't holding onto my leg for dear life, she was literally beating on the door!! I don't think I have ever taken a shower that fast!! Let's just say, it will be a long time before I try that again!!
After our TRAUMATIC shower, we got dressed and headed to the mall for a little shopping!! Kendall got some fall/winter clothes (Gymboree was having a HUGE sale!!) and some new hairbands and bows!! We had lunch there and played at the little play area and then we headed back home for a much needed nap!!
We then went to the pool!!! Kendall is such the water bug! She loves to blow bubbles and even lays on her back!! We start swim lessons in a couple of weeks and are very excited!

On Sunday...Melinda (my mother-in-law) watched Kendall so that Justin and I could have a fun day! We started out by having brunch at Christopher's. This is one of our favorite places. If you are in the area you should really give this place a try!! We then went to the movie, "Killers". It was border-line "chick flick" but really funny, so both Justin and I liked it!! We then went home and hung out with Kendall. She has a little fever, runny nose, and cough, so please say a little prayer this isn't the start of something big!!

Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. Have a great week!!

Random Acts of Kindness

I'm one day late in participating in this, but better late than never!! Over on Kelly's Corner she was asking what Random Acts of Kindess do we do.
These are some of the things that I have done:
     1. Make dinner for a friend that has had surgery or just had a baby
     2. Send a card to a friend just to let them know I was thinking of them
     3. I try really really hard to send a birthday card to all my friends. Sometime I buy the card and then forget to send it until it's past their birthday, but I do have good intentions!! I know how excited I get when I get  mail that is something other than junk or a bill, so I try to return the favor to them!!
     4. I donate items to be sent over to Iraq for the soldiers. Whenever there is a sale at the grocery store, I buy a couple of extra items and send them over to our Church or take them up to work. There is a couple that I work with whose son is over in Iraq, so I donate most of my items to him.

I know it's not much, but I do try to show my friends and family I really appreciate them!!
